Ark Eden - Tung Hang Mei, Lantau Island

About the event

Join us for a rewarding experience of helping care for some of the 37,000+ trees planted by Ark Eden in the nearby hillsides, just a 20-30 minute hike away. Adults and children (6+ years, with good walking abilities) are welcome to fertilize, weed, and measure the young trees while soaking in the breathtaking vistas of the Mui Wo valley and beyond. Bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy together on the scenic Ark Eden site afterwards or head down to Mui Wo and enjoy one of its many yummy eateries! It's a perfect opportunity to contribute to the environment, appreciate nature's beauty, and create cherished memories with your loved ones.

Participants for the Native Forest Restoration Walk will need to wear appropriate footwear for hiking in the hillsides and prepare weather appropriate clothing (sunhat, sunscreen/ waterproofs/rain-gear) and bring a water bottle and snacks if desired. If staying on site for lunch, participants will need to prepare their own picnic lunch and take any non-compostable waste with them for disposal off-site. Alternatively, there are shops and restaurants available in Mui Wo, a 20-30 minute walk away. Food can also be ordered from local restaurants and delivered to the site with an additional $50 charge from Sunset Deliveries The event will run until 19:30, but participants intending to take the ferry to Central should be aware the 20:00 is an ordinary ferry. Fast ferries are at 19:20 and 18:40.

Nested in Mui Wo's verdant foothills, Ark Eden is a registered charity committed to environmental education and permaculture. Since 2006, it has pursued sustainable solutions for environmental and social issues. Through immersive camps, workshops, wellness experiences, and eco-restoration projects, Ark Eden fosters a deep connection with nature while tackling urgent ecological concerns.
